Patricia A. D’Amore discusses the many roles of Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the adult.

Wyss invited lecturer Mark Bathe from MIT will present a computational tool called CanDo (Computer-aided engineering for DNA origami, http://cando.dna-origami.org) that predicts the solution shape and mechanical properties of scaffolded DNA origami designs based on input caDNAno (http://cadnano.org) design files.

Wyss invited lecturer, Samie Jaffrey from Wiell Cornell Medical College will describe how to engineer RNA analogs to green fluorescent protein (GFP) for imaging RNA in living cells.

The Microfluidics and Medicine symposium, chaired by Wyss core faculty members Don Ingber, George Whitesides and David Weitz, will focus on recent advances in the field of microfluidics that are accelerating development of medical technologies in areas ranging from diagnostics and therapeutics to high-throughput screening technologies and organs-on-chips. The day will end with a panel discussion on Commericialization Challenges and Lessons Learned, followed by a talk by George Whitesides on the future of this dynamic field.
