Madalena Damásio Costa
Costa is an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Associate Director of the Margret and H. A. Rey Institute for Nonlinear Dynamics in Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Costa is interested in uncovering fundamental mechanisms of biologic control that account for the multiscale properties of complex systems, ranging from the cellular to the system level. She received her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Lisbon and was a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard.

Matt Welsh

Welsh is the Thomas D. Cabot Associate Professor of Computer Science at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard. His current work is focused on programming frameworks for wireless sensor networks, as well as applications of this technology in areas such as medicine, public health, and geophysics. He received his B.S. in Computer Science from Cornell University, and his Master's and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
