Staff Scientist – Organ Chip-Enabled Therapeutic Discovery

The Wyss Institute seeks a talented, enthusiastic and experienced individual to work as an Advanced Technology Team Staff Scientist on the Bioinspired Therapeutics and Diagnostics platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for application of human Organ Chip technology to mimic pathophysiology and develop novel therapeutics. Responsibilities include design of experimental procedures and protocols; management of interdisciplinary research teams; organization and oversight of experiments, and sample preparation/analysis. The successful candidate for this position will be capable of performing research and training team members (including technicians, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows) in the use, design and implementation of in vitro studies, as well as key endpoint analyses. This will require a strong background in vitro cell based assays, requiring hands-on experience with primary cell culture, molecular and biochemical techniques, and discovery tools, such as CRISPR, phage display, or other molecular engineering approaches, in a research and development environment. The candidate will also work in collaborative efforts with other researchers and Faculty at the Institute across disciplines, Harvard University, and collaborating institutions. The chosen candidate for this position will contribute to the preparation of grants, protocols, presentations, and technical reports, and be a key point of contact with collaborators as well as funding institutions.
