Gene, an Associate Professor in the Program in Behavioral Sciences at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, is Principal investigator of the Multirobot project and of the Flexible Electronics for Toddlers project of the Bioinspired Robotics Platform. The multirobot is a novel modular robotic system for toddlers born prematurely and at risk for cerebral palsy. The robotic components are designed to emulate the way that adults assist children learning to walk. The Flexible electronics project is an advanced technology soft sensor system worn on the hands for diagnosis of neurological problems in prematurely born children.
