Carl’s research interests are focused on leveraging protein and DNA nanotechnology for molecular diagnostics applications. Carl received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of New Mexico, where he developed a novel DNA computing platform using DNAzymes. His postdoc work at the Naval Research Laboratory involved the characterization of various biomolecular approaches for improved biosensing capabilities. He is currently part of the low cost diagnostics team at the Wyss.
