Shimyn Slomovic, Ph.D.

Research Scientist

Shimyn received his B.A. and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, studying RNA metabolism in human cells. During his postdoc at MIT he engineered a system for pathogen sequence detection in mammalian cells and also helped create a platform for cell-free biomolecular manufacturing, as a Ragon Institute fellow. His current research interests at the Wyss Institute include the development of nucleic acid-based pathogen diagnostics for at-home testing and for resource-limited regions.
