Dmitry Popov, Ph.D.

Technology Development Fellow

Dmitry received his BS and MS degrees in Robotics and Mechatronics from the Moscow State Technical University ”STANKIN” in 2009 and 2011, respectively, and his MS and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Korea University of Technology and Education in 2011 and 2014, respectively. He has developed portable soft robotics systems for upper limb rehabilitation and daily assistance based on twisted string actuators and contributed into further commercialization of the technology. He joined Prof. Conor Walsh in 2015 as a post-doctoral fellow, where he worked on Warrior Web project and protective bracing for ACL injury prevention. As Wyss Institute Technology Development Fellow, he focuses on soft robotics apparel technologies targeting consumer applications for athletic training, injury prevention, and every day assistance.
