Feng received his B.S. in Chemistry & M.Phil. in Biomedical Engineering from Hunan University and his Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His Ph.D. work focused on developing “immobilization-free” strategies for electrochemistry-based biosensing and “enzyme-free” nucleic acid amplification methodologies. At the lab of Prof. Peng Yin, Feng developed an ultra-sensitive immunoassay platform that is capable of quantifying fg/ml protein markers from 1ul sample with ubiquitous qPCR machines. As a Wyss Technology Development Fellow, Feng is continuing to optimize the platform, with the ultimate goal of developing it to a field-deployable package for various diagnostic applications.
