Ken is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His research is primarily focused on stem cell differentiation, kidney organoids, and disease modeling. His main motivation for research stems from his compassion towards patients, and hence, he has concentrated his efforts on finding innovative treatments for chronic kidney disease. At the Wyss Institute, Ken is collaborating with Professor Jennifer Lewis, aiming to create functional microphysiological kidney tissues using organ-on-a-chip systems to model kidney disease.
Ken received his Ph.D. in Keio University School of Medicine in Japan. He is a recipient of funding from the Uehara Memorial Foundation and Cell Science Research Foundation.
