Scientist II- Brain Targeting Program
Research and Technology DevelopmentThe Wyss Institute’s Brain Targeting Program (BTP), co-led by James Gorman, M.D., Ph.D. and Donald Ingber, M.D., Ph.D., is developing brain delivery technologies that enable development of safer and more effective brain-targeted therapeutics for diverse brain diseases. Our brain delivery platform enables these therapeutic advances by dramatically improving transport of drugs across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) into the brain. We are looking for a talented Scientist to support the discovery and validation of our antibody brain shuttles and to lead the development of our brain shuttle-mediated oligonucleotide platform. Reporting to the Principal Scientist, you will work closely with our team using both in vitro cellular systems and in vivo humanized mouse models to optimize oligonucleotide delivery. [65751BR]

Research Assistant III – Immune Organs-on-Chip
Research and Technology DevelopmentWe are looking for a research assistant to join the Intestine and Immune Organs on Chip team in Dr. Don Ingber’s laboratory. We are using immune organs-on-chip to study vaccines, solid tumors, and Lyme Disease. We are using Intestine Organ on Chip to study and model the intestinal tract and microbiome and its influences on diseases, such as malnutrition-associated with environmental enteric dysfunction (EED), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and radiation-induced injury, as well as therapeutic responses. With our work, we hope to understand what makes a vaccine effective, create an implantable therapy for pancreatic cancer, as well as incubate a startup that will design novel Lyme Disease therapeutics. Furthermore, the organ-chip model of intestinal injuries will help us to understand the molecular, genetic and nutritional bases of the disease and the testing of candidate therapeutics for it.
Reporting to the Principal Scientist leading the team, you will support these studies with the potential to become the go-to person for specific aspects of these research projects. You will learn cutting-edge human immunology and organ-on-chip techniques and may also be exposed to gene editing technology. The ideal candidate is comfortable learning and doing different types of tasks within the same week, has had diverse research experiences, and works well within a team. [65468BR]

Research Assistant IV – Immunology and Organs-on-Chip
Research and Technology DevelopmentWe are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual with previous experience in immunology to join the Bioinspired Therapeutics & Diagnostics platform as a senior and independent Research Assistant. You will significantly contribute to research programs on infectious disease vaccines, post-infection chronic illness and cancer immunology funded by the Gates Foundation, BARDA, ARPA-H and Northpond Ventures. You will work with primary immune cells derived from human blood, tonsils or other tissues, and be responsible for independently planning and executing scientific research involving microfluidic Organ on Chip primary cell culture as well as attenuated laboratory poliovirus strains or other biosafety level 2 pathogens. You will also develop and validate various in-vitro cell based assays. You will be expected to work independently with minimal guidance from academic staff to design experiments, learn new skills, troubleshoot, and to contribute intellectually to the project. [65462BR]
