Multiple sclerosis affects over 2.5 million people worldwide and the most common symptoms include severe gait and balance problems. Until relatively recently, gait and balance changes in persons with multiple sclerosis were not studied and are still not completely understood.
Dr. Huisinga’s talk will focus on what we do know about gait and balance deficits in persons with multiple sclerosis and how underlying sensorimotor changes resulting from multiple sclerosis contribute to these deficits.
