Role Description:

The lab of Don Ingber, M.D., Ph.D., Founding Director at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University seeks outstanding postdoctoral applicants with expertise and knowledge of thrombosis and vascular biology to join an interdisciplinary team of biologists and engineers focused on the use of human Organ Chips to advance knowledge and development of therapeutic countermeasures for acute radiation injury and a broad range of other health security threats.

What You’ll Need:

  • Ph.D. and/or M.D., Ph.D. and have a proven record of high-quality publications in thrombosis, inflammation and vascular biology.
  • Expertise in in vitro culture of primary human cells, blood separation, platelet biology, coagulation analyses, as well as working knowledge of other molecular and cell biology concepts and techniques.
  • Past experience successfully executing studies on blood coagulation, platelet function, and/or endothelial-platelet interactions
  • Strong interest in contributing to multidisciplinary teams (engineers, biologists/physiologists, clinicians) is critical for this position.

Preferred experience includes:

  • Perfusion of whole blood or blood cells in microfluidic systems to study coagulation and vascular injury.
