Amanda Graveline, D.V.M.

As the Staff Veterinarian at the Wyss Institute, Amanda Graveline oversees a diverse portfolio of projects and provides guidance to the Wyss community in navigating steps for approval and implementation of in-vivo studies. Throughout her career, she has worked with investigators to successfully apply models for the innovation of diagnostics and therapeutics for DIC, sepsis, colitis, multiple sclerosis, urinary tract infection, implant associated biofilm, and melanoma, among others. As part of the Clinical and Translational Research Core, Amanda is available to assist colleagues in acquiring IACUC approval for their animal work, and her team is poised to provide training and hands-on support for the launch and maintenance of studies. Her goals are primarily focused on collaborating with investigators to meet scientific objectives while championing the 3Rs for animal use in research (replacement, reduction, and refinement). Amanda obtained her DVM from Tufts University where she also completed the master’s degree program in Laboratory Animal Medicine. Prior to graduate work, she spent 3 years at the MGH Anesthesia Center for Critical Care Research under the mentorship of Dr. Kenneth Bloch working on studies to elucidate mechanisms for cardiovascular disease and pulmonary hypertension.
