Nayoung Kim

Nayoung received her BS in Materials Science and Engineering from Seoul National University in Korea, and obtained both her MSc and PhD from the Department of Materials at Imperial College London in the UK. Her graduate research focused on bio- and nanomaterials-enabled diagnostics and therapeutics that exploit unique physicochemical and biological properties of nanoscale architectures. As a Wyss Technology Development Fellow, Nayoung is harnessing synthetic biology to advance precision medicine with improved efficacy, safety, and modularity. Her research centers on designing synthetic gene circuits to enhance transcriptional and translational control in human cells and developing engineered living therapeutics. Additionally, she explores novel targeted delivery systems for synthetic gene circuits.
