Engineering Gene Networks: The Emergence of Synthetic Biology
12 - 1 pmMaxwell-Dworkin, room G125
33 Oxford Street, Cambridge, MA 02138

In this talk, Collins will describe how techniques from nonlinear dynamics and molecular biology can be utilized to model, design and construct synthetic gene regulatory networks. He will present examples in which he integrates the development of a theoretical model with the construction of an experimental system. Collins also will discuss the implications of synthetic gene networks for biotechnology, biomedicine and biocomputing.
