Katie oversees the facilities and planning function at the Wyss Institute. This includes maintaining a relationship with the overall building management team and ensuring there are no issues with the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or life safety systems throughout the Wyss floors.
Before joining the Wyss in 2021, Katie gained experience working in scientific labs as a Campus Construction Project Manager at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a position she held for four and a half years. Katie has eight years of experience as a carpenter, working with the Boston Carpenters Union where she went through the apprentice program and became a Journeyman Carpenter. Her commercial construction projects included building out the Wyss labs in 2008. Katie also has ten years of experience as a construction project manager, primarily in higher education and art exhibit settings. Katie holds a B.A. in Business Management from Green Mountain College and a B.S. in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
