Senior Scientist II

Chandrav De, Ph.D.

Leveraging his expertise in immunology, Chandrav uses the Organ on Chip platform to investigate the role of the human immune system in multiple disease areas. His research primarily focuses on the development and utilization of Immune Organ Chip models for a better understanding of human-specific disease pathobiology in the areas of oncology, autoimmunity, and infectious diseases for the discovery of novel biomarkers and the development of new immunotherapies. Before joining Wyss Institute, Chandrav was part of the in vivo pharmacology and preclinical development teams at different biotech companies developing small molecule inhibitors and cellular immunotherapies for viral infections, cancer, and autoimmunity. Chandrav earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from SUNY Upstate Medical University with distinction, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases at UNC Chapel Hill and the Department of Biological Sciences at UNC Charlotte.
