Michael supports the Institute by planning, organizing, and overseeing the overall operations of the laboratories. He collaborates with the research groups to develop and implement best management and laboratory practices to ensure laboratory operations run efficiently and safely. Michael provides technical expertise and information on various aspects of laboratory safety. He works with the Institute staff to ensure resources are available and effectively managed to support research projects and laboratory activities. Michael participates in long-term planning and budgeting processes and identifies project personnel and equipment needs. He serves as the Wyss Institute contractual contact for services delivered and is responsible for permits and licenses. As the Primary Incident Coordinator, Michael manages multiple monitoring systems for critical equipment and leads the Safety Committee. Prior to coming to the Wyss, Michael had five years of laboratory safety experience working in industry. Michael holds a B.S. in Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene from Keene State College in New Hampshire and is a Certified Safety Professional through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
