We seek to address current challenges of fortifying and storing breast milks in order to provide adequate nutrition to preterm babies. Current methods of treating breast milk, such as lyophilization and spray drying, fail to preserve essential nutrients.
Our team, which combines medical, nutritional, and scientific expertise, is comparing current methods with novel gas extrusion and refrigerated concentration, analyzing their impact on nutrition, safety, and storage duration, aiming to find a superior method for fortifying preterm nutrition for these fragile infants.
