Diagnostic Opportunities to Advance the Health of Women

Wyss EventLecture

Hosted by Wyss Core Faculty David R. Walt, PhD, Diagnostics Grand Rounds brings clinicians with unmet needs to the Wyss Institute. The goal of these sessions is to inform technology developers about important clinical problems that can help them direct their technology development efforts. Presenters are asked to identify diagnostic needs that will have an impact on the quality of care they deliver.

Both biologic sex and sociocultural gender have a large impact on health. Diagnostic testing needs to consider the impact of each in order to provide sex and gender-informed care. Moreover, multiple conditions that solely or predominantly affect women have diagnostic needs. Dr. Rexrode, the Chief of the Division of Women’s Health in the Department of Medicine will discuss diagnostic opportunities to advance the health of women.
