The Office of the University Marshal and the Embassy of Ecuador arranged a visit for a small delegation from the Ecuadorian government to make connections with environmental and life science experts. The Government of Ecuador is establishing a new university dedicated solely to the reduction of the use of non-renewable natural resources through the generation of knowledge and science. The Amazon Regional University (nicknamed “IKIAM” for the shuar native word meaning “forest”), would combine biodiversity, natural and cultural heritage with research and human talent.
