PopTech, a global community of innovators, announced that Staff Scientist Sriram “Sri” Kosuri has been selected as one of this year’s elite class of ten “PopTech Science Fellows.”
The PopTech Science Fellows program is a unique leadership development opportunity designed to help high potential working scientists become more effective communicators, collaborators, and leaders both within and beyond the traditional bounds of academia.
“I am honored to be a member of the PopTech Science Class of 2012,” says Kosuri, who is developing next-generation DNA synthesis technologies for use in bioengineering. “I’m looking forward to contributing to such a rich dialogue with fellow scientists representing other disciplines and to learning a great deal in return.”
This year’s fellows, representing disciplines from bioengineering to oceanography and psychiatry, will learn key skills from a faculty of experts, including communication, leadership, collaboration, and more. They will also form an extensive network of mutual support and play a highly visible role within the PopTech global community of innovators.
Kosuri will join the other fellows at an intense, three-day training session in Maine in mid-October and will introduce his work on stage at the PopTech 2012 conference in Camden, Maine, from October 17-20, entitled “Toward Resilience.”
The nomination process for the fellow program is by invitation only, and the members of the program’s world-class advisory board include top-tier science and communications leaders.
