The Wyss Institute at Harvard is developing a soft wearable suit to improve human performance and reduce the energy used during walking.
We will ask participants to walk and perform other movements (such as squatting) while carrying a heavy load and/or wearing the assistive suit. We will collect information about the way participants move, how their muscles behave during movement, and how much energy is used to move. Photos and videos may be taken.
The research study will involve at least one visit. Compensation is available for eligible participants.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be between 18 and 50 years old
- Not have a diagnosed or suspected condition affecting your muscles, movements, or walking
- Be an experienced load carrier (i.e. member of a military program (off duty or on leave), ROTC, or other habitual recreational/occupational load carrier)
